8000 Grit Aluminum Oxide Rock Tumbler Polish, Step 5 Final Polish
- 8000 Grit Rock Polish—A Dedicated Final-Finishing Grade: Already using an 800–1500 grit regular polish? KomeStone 8000 grit offers a higher nominal grit grade for a separate final-polishing cycle. This ultra-fine aluminum oxide polishing powder helps develop a glossy appearance on properly prepared rocks, gems, and glass, highlighting their natural colors and patterns.
- Step 5 Final Polish—After Grinding, Smoothing & Regular Polishing: Complete the earlier stages first, then use this rock tumbler polish to focus on the finished surface. Add it to your rock tumbling grit and polish routine as a dedicated finishing step. Stones should already be smooth and prepared, with deep scratches addressed before final polishing.
- Aluminum Oxide Rock Polish for Rocks, Gems & Glass: Use this rock polishing grit on prepared quartz, agate, gemstones, and glass for lapidary projects, collections, decorative displays, and jewelry making. This rock polishing compound helps bring out surface gloss and luster; the final appearance depends on the material and its preparation.
- Rock Tumbler Grit—Resealable 1 LB Polish Refill: Suitable for standard rock tumblers. Measure out the rock tumbler polishing grit needed for each batch and store the remainder in the resealable container. Follow your machine’s loading and polishing instructions.
- Recommended Usage & Preparation: Clean stones and barrel thoroughly between stages. Start with approximately 0.05 lb of powder per 1 lb of stones, adding water according to your tumbler’s instructions. Use 3–5 days as an initial guide; check progress and adjust for material and equipment. Rinse thoroughly after polishing.
- Complete Your Rock Tumbling System – Full Grit Line from KomeStone: This 8000-grit polish pairs perfectly with KomeStone's complete multi-stage grit system. Polishing Tips & Disclaimer:
Both 8000 grit and 12000 grit can be used for Step 5 polishing — you may choose either one. If the desired shine is not achieved, extending the polishing time can often improve results. You can also try using 8000 grit first, followed by 12000 grit for a finer, more refined finish.
Please note that polishing results may vary depending on factors such as stone type, weight, and grit ratio. Achieving the ideal shine may require some experimentation and adjustments to find what works best for your stones.
This Step 5 polishing powder for rocks and gems is a premium refill for multiple polishing cycles, perfect for hobbyists, crafters, and collectors seeking consistent results.
