There are two basic types of sensors used in stud finders: electronic and magnetic. Our electronic stud finders work by detecting changes in the density of the surface being scanned. Our electronic wall detector have a visual display that pinpoints the location of the stud, and have an audible signal as well. This Electronic stud sensors adoptes the Intelligent Microprocessor chip and could sense objects buried deeper inside.
This stud finder features 5 scanning modes for wood, metal, AC wiring, studs, and object embedded up to a depth of 60mm. The basic mode scans through one layer of drywall, but the deep scan mode observes through two layers.

Q:Can stud finders be wrong?
A:This stud finder is accurater than 95% stud finders on the market. If you wanna better test results, we suggest that you could continue scanning the wall until you’ve located at least three studs. If the distance between each is equal, and is 16 to 24 inches, you can be confident that you’ve located studs, not some other building material.
Select Mode
Press the button to choose modes that you desired, and go to next step
Calibrate
Press and hold the scan button( on the side of the tool) to calibrate it. Wait until the reducing bars disappear and short beep sound,then calibration has completed.
In stud/deep mode, place the tool against the wall to calibrate it; In AC/Metal mode, make sure put the tool in the air to calibrate it.
Moving
Move it gently along the wall and please keep moving the tool in the same direction.If shake or lift the scanner accidentally, the device needs to be re-calibrated.
The narrow on the screen together with the beep signal, would indicate the location of the stud.
Find Stud Location
When the signal bar is full and the beep alarm is loudest, you find the center of an object. Mark it with your pencil.
Then switch to Metal Scan mode to confirm whether it is a metal. If not, it means that you found the center of a stud. (More details refer to the above description of "Metal Scan Detection")
Wood Mode
The stud mode can scan studs behind the wall up to 3⁄4 in. (19 mm) deep.This wall scanner also provides a deeper wall scanning mode for 1.25 in. (38mm) deep studs. Both wood and metal studs can be found in deep mode.
Metal Mode
Our stud finder with metal mode relies on density changes to detect, so it cannot be judged whether wood or metal is measured. Then using the Stud mode to find the subject, then adjust to the Metal mode to verify again.
AC Wires Mode
AC Wire detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wiring up to 2 inches (51 mm) deep. In all modes, this wall scanner always detect and indicate Live AC Wires
When live AV voltage is detected, the AC warning indicator will illuminate and protect your safety
