- NOTE: Before tracing circuits with this product, always connect a DC power supply to make sure the automotive wiring is powered on. Connect the transmitter first, then turn on power to the car circuit. No need to start the vehicle — only powered wiring is required. If your wire tracer still has no response even after adjusting its 3 sensitivity settings and holding it very close to the car wiring, check if the wiring has power.
